Clothing in school
At Lumio School, we encourage students to dress comfortably while maintaining a standard that is appropriate for a safe and respectful learning environment.

Footwear
Trainers, shoes and boots (anything comfortable that protects your feet and toes).
Trousers, shorts and skirts
Trousers, Jeans, Chinos, joggers, shorts, leggings, tights, skorts and skirts (that hang to the knee or lower).
Upper-body clothing
T-shirts, shirts/blouses, sweaters, jumpers, cardigans and hoodies.
Physical Education & Sports
Appropriate sports clothing for the activity.
Footwear
Flip-flops or sliders (beach footwear). Parents & students should be conscious of Health & Safety in the labs, etc.
Trousers, shorts and skirts
Ripped Jeans, beach attire and skirts that are too short (above the knee).
Upper-body clothing
Crop-tops (with midriff/tummy exposed), strapless or ‘spaghetti’ tops.
Physical Education & Sports
Clothing not designed for the activity and deemed unsafe.
Behavioural Policy link
At Lumio School, our approach to behaviour is rooted in our values of inclusion, empathy, and collaboration. This is not a traditional Behaviour Policy with a fixed list of rules and escalating consequences. Our Behaviour for Learning (B4L) Framework is a living, evolving guide shaped by ongoing reflection and dialogue within our community.
A dedicated steering group will regularly review its application to ensure it remains aligned with our child-centred, inclusive philosophy. In a multicultural and multilingual environment, we recognise that behaviour is complex and context-specific, and a rigid right-or-wrong model does not serve the diverse needs of our learners. Drawing on the work of educationalist Paul Dix and the restorative practices recommended by the Council of International Schools (CIS), this framework places relationships, reflection, and meaningful behaviour change at its core. It is important for our children to understand different behavioural decisions when faced with choices in life and when an incorrect choice is made that they are not humiliated for this decision but rather guided towards a more appropriate one.
