We are officially open!

We are pleased to report that representatives from the Cyprus Ministry of Education, Sports, and Youth inspected our school in the first few weeks of September. The Ministry Committee then scheduled their meeting for Monday, 16 September and we received the authorisation to start classes for the 2024/25 academic year. This was fantastic news for everyone involved in the school’s development, students, parents and staff!

Lumio Private School officially opened its doors on 17 September 2024!

During last week we not only started our first classes at Lumio, but we also welcomed our parents and students onto the school grounds for a special tour. Mr. Colin introduced everyone to the school, and parents and students had the opportunity to meet their teaching advisors in their classrooms. During the tour, students were invited to engage in interactive activities such as writing their wishes for the year on ribbons, which were then placed on the “Wish Line.” They also had the opportunity to contribute to our Lumio Wall with personal messages.

The sense of community was further strengthened as parents and students tasted the meals that will be served in our Canteen and mingled with each other in a relaxed, informal setting. It was a wonderful experience to see the enthusiasm and excitement shared by both parents and children.

The first day of school was an incredible success. Students were fully engaged in their lessons, and the atmosphere in and out of the classroom was one of excitement and joy. Even the swimming classes, which are part of our curriculum, went off without a hitch, adding to the fun of the first week. The rest of the week provided more engaging learning experiences as we continued with planned lessons and activities.

This marks the beginning of a new and exciting journey for Lumio School, and we are confident that the year ahead will bring many opportunities for growth, learning, and connection. We look forward to seeing what the first term—and the rest of the year—holds for our students and the wider Lumio community.
