Welcome to our first Lumio Newsletter!

Our campus and development plans

The countdown continues for the opening of Lumio Private School in September 2024, and we plan to keep you updated with each milestone achieved.We expect the general contractor to commence planned renovations within the next two weeks, perhaps even sooner. Watch this space!

Lumio’s architectural partners, the esteemed LAZAROU & MICHAEL Cypriot firm, continue to inform us that they are working to ensure that our project is delivered on time. All technical documents, regarding the renovation of the building are now in review and awaiting final approval.

The process of the school premises have been completed this week, resulting in a to our campus, this included 10 skip containers of up to 19 tons of “waste” being removed from the site.

Companies applying for the general contract to upgrade the school premises will be appointed within the next three weeks.

As presented during our Open Day presentation, the existing infrastructure forming the foundation of our school is in place, allowing us to concentrate on stripping the surrounds, treating the metal and adding the building blocks to create a safe, nurturing and inspiring environment for your child.

The Furniture for our classrooms has been ordered and the visualisations of these will be available in due course!

We will continue to provide you with further detailed information of the upgrade to the school facilities for September 2024 in our next newsletter.

Opening with Phase A – September 2024

Phase A of our development includes the renovation of our Primary School building, this will house both our primary and secondary students during our first year of operation. The surrounding sports fields within this same area will be developed. The green, yellow and orange sections on the diagram below depict the areas that will be renovated in Phase A, this includes completely upgrading the walls, floors, ceiling and roof.

Opening with Phase B – September 2025

Phase B will see the renovation of our Secondary School building including the remaining sporting and outdoor facilities.

All areas being renovated will be fenced and secured for the safety of our students and we will ensure that there are no disruptions during the school day! Most of the noise for both Phase A and B will occur at the same time.

Additionally, we are working on our nursery school licence for approval by the Ministry of education, which will cater to the youngest learners in our community. We envision completing this for September 2026 and will keep you updated on the progress.

Education licence

Our education licence is 90% complete with a few final academic modules being completed for approval by the Ministry of Education.

We understand that a nurturing environment is essential for unlocking each child’s full potential, which is why our aim is not only to renovate the school buildings; but to work towards creating a school where students can thrive academically, socially, and creatively.

Admissions procedure

To complete your application, we’ll need a few essential documents, including:

  1. Passports: parents/guardians and child/ren.
  2. Birth certificate/s, vaccination certificate/s, and a passport photo: child/ren.
  3. Reports for child/ren applying to join:
    • Grade 1 (nursery school report);
    • Grade 2 (nursery and Grade 1 report card);
    • Grade 3 and above (the last two years of report cards).

If your child has any special educational needs or medical requirements, please include relevant reports to assist us in understanding their unique learning needs.

Once your application is submitted, our dedicated team will review all the information provided. Should we require any further details, we’ll be sure to reach out promptly.

Our team will then schedule your child/ren’s assessments. Once these are completed our Admissions Board reviews the application and assessments.

If your child is offered a place, you’ll receive an offer letter along with our enrolment agreement. It’s imperative that these documents are carefully reviewed and accepted within 10 working days on receipt of the enrolment agreement.

Places will become limited closer to the opening date, to secure a seat for your child return your enrolment agreement within the provided period.
