We are pleased to introduce Lumio’s Environmental Impact Programme, beginning with two significant milestones that mark our commitment to sustainability and environmental education.
To start, we have enhanced our partnership with City Friends Club through a range of collaborative initiatives. These include a successful Community Clean-Up Day, the production of our student-led Recycling Rules video, and a series of engaging activities for Global Recycling Day held on campus. We look forward to building on this partnership through future projects that foster environmental responsibility across our school community.
Secondly, our newly formed Eco Advocate Team — comprising nine students from Grades 1 to 9 — has officially held its first meeting. Under the guidance of our Eco Mission supervisors — Ms Albina, Ms Aurelija, and Ms Anastasia — this dedicated group will lead student-driven sustainability initiatives across the school, encouraging peer engagement and environmental awareness at every level.
A heartfelt congratulations to our appointed Eco Advocates: Eva, Diana, Marianna, Lev, Penelope, Jacob, Kostya, Savva, Fedor, and Mikhail.
You’ll spot them around campus wearing their bright green lanyards — feel free to approach them with any questions, ideas, or suggestions related to sustainability. Together, they’re helping to shape a greener future at Lumio.
On 18 March, we marked Global Recycling Day with a vibrant collaboration alongside City Friends Club. As part of the initiative, our ASP Video Club students — guided by Lumio Media Assistant, Mr Sam — produced an inspiring video that highlights simple yet powerful ways we can all contribute to protecting the planet.
Watch the video via the link below to see our young eco-advocates channelling their inner Hollywood stars — all in support of a greener future. Who knew recycling could be so theatrical?
As part of the initiative, Lumio launched a lively Paper Recycling Days competition between the school houses—Air, Earth, Water, and Fire. Students enthusiastically took part, collecting an impressive 77 kg of paper waste, with Water House taking the lead.
Special thanks to City Friends for supporting the event and responsibly recycling all collected paper. A promising first step in our continued commitment to environmental responsibility.
This initiative serves as an excellent example of sustainability, collaboration, and community engagement in action — and marks a confident beginning to our ongoing environmental journey.
