Thank you for your cooperation in following these guidelines, which help us maintain a safe and organised environment for all students and staff.

Late Pick-up and General Safety

Late Pick-up

If you are more than 15 minutes late, your child will be registered and supervised in the Flexi Club. Parents will be charged a fee of €30/child – this is to allow the school to run efficiently with the staff capacity available. Reception will manage a register, you can collect your child from here and pay for the club.

Pedestrian Safety is a top priority. Please be aware of our children as they cross the pedestrian walkways.

General safety – Due to the dangerous high speed of vehicles on the main road to our school, we request that all parents follow the general traffic rules and designated routes for entering and exiting the campus.

Thank you for your cooperation in following these guidelines, which help us maintain a safe and organised environment for all students and staff.

Traffic Guidelines

The roads surrounding our school are subject to high-speed limits (up to 80 km/h), requiring strict adherence to traffic rules to ensure the safety of all community members.

Entry and Exit Instructions: From Paphos: Access the school via the Kyklikos Komvos Sfageiou Roundabout (near the Mammography clinic). Turn left into the school.

From the Airport: Continue to the roundabout and turn back towards the school to enter from the left-hand side.
Important: Avoid making right-hand turns into or out of the school as it is both illegal and hazardous.

On-Site Traffic Flow: Upon entering the school grounds, proceed to the small roundabout and follow the designated one-way system.

Parking: You may park and walk your child to class, or allow older children to walk themselves.

Drop-Off Point: Use the drop-off area for quick exits to maintain traffic flow.

Pedestrian Safety: Walkways and a pedestrian crossing are available for safe access. A staff member will assist with crossing the road.

Exiting the School: Turn left towards the airport. To return to Paphos, use alternative routes or safe turnaround points.
Traffic flow diagrams are attached for reference. Thank you for ensuring the safety and efficiency of our community’s daily routines.

Attendance and Daily registration

Arriving at school on time allows your child to settle before class starts, to catch-up with their friends and creates a routine allowing them to feel settled. Late students must go to the Reception to be registered by our office staff. This is a safeguarding requirement.

08:00 to 08:15 – Class registration.
08:10 – Gates to primary and secondary close.
08:10 – Students arriving after this time are late and must go to the Reception office to be registered.

  • It is the requirement of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MOE&S) for parents to complete a Late Arrival Form – these are available at Reception to complete on the day.
  • Students will receive a Late Slip to give to their Homeroom teacher. This ensures that all teachers are aware that students have been registered for safeguarding purposes.
  • If your child is sick, or leaving early, please email the details to Reception on info@lumio.school and message your Homeroom Teacher on Toddle (The Academic App) and the bus company (if they take this).
  • If you are picking them up, meet them in Reception, and complete one of the forms below, which is a Ministry of Education Requirement:
    • Early pick-up: MOEY&S Pupil Leave Permit Form .

Our Buddy System

We implement a buddy system whenever a new student joins. This helps children learn how the school works, where to go, and gives them the chance to get to know their classmates. It ensures that every child feels welcome and comfortable in their new environment.

Dress Code

Students are allowed to wear their own clothes to school, with the following guidelines to assist parents with what is appropriate and safe attire.

If a student attends school in clothes that are not appropriate, parents will be notified and requested to pick them up from school to change OR to bring clothes for them to change into.

  • Students are welcome to wear the following to make choices easier for parents:
  • Black, blue or grey trousers, shorts, skorts or skirts (that come just above the knee).

Lockers

How the Lockers Work:

  • Students will be issued a locker tag. This comes in the form of a blue bangle, which contains a digital key programmed specifically for your assigned locker.
  • To open your locker, simply hold your tag against the lock—you’ll hear a click, and the door will unlock.
  • To secure your locker, just close the door firmly, and it will automatically lock.

Bangles will be issued free of charge; however, if a student loses theirs, they must report the loss to their Homeroom Advisor and request a new one. A replacement bangle will cost parents €10.

Locker Rules & Expectations:

To ensure everyone enjoys the benefit of a clean and secure locker space, please follow these simple guidelines:

Do:

  • Look after your locker and your bracelet, and use it responsibly.
  • Keep your space tidy and take belongings home regularly.
  • Use blue or white tac if you wish to place photos or small pictures inside your locker door only.

Do Not:

  • Decorate the outside of your locker in any way.
  • Draw, write, or stick anything to the locker doors with pens, markers, crayons, or stickers.
  • Swing, hang on, or slam the locker doors.
  • Share your locker or tag with anyone else.
  • Force the doors—if there’s a problem, speak to a member of staff.

Important:

Lockers remain the property of the school and are subject to checks if needed. Any damage or misuse may result in the loss of locker privileges and/or a charge for repairs.

Let’s all do our part to keep our school environment clean, respectful and safe for everyone.

If you have any questions or need help with your locker, please speak to your Homeroom Advisor.

School Trips

At Lumio Private School, we believe in the transformative power of experiential learning. School trips enrich our students’ understanding by connecting real-world experiences to the curriculum, making learning meaningful and relevant to their daily lives.

Day Trips
Off-site visits are thoughtfully integrated into our curriculum to enhance student learning. Prior to any trip, parents will receive detailed information via Clipboard. This will include the trip’s purpose, transportation arrangements, and any admission fees. Parents are required to confirm their child’s attendance and complete any necessary payments through the platform.

Residential Trips
Residential trips are designed to provide students with immersive learning opportunities. For these trips, parents must ensure their child has a valid passport or ID and adequate medical insurance.

Key Details for All Trips:

A designated trip leader will be assigned for each visit, and their contact details will be shared with parents.
All trips include a designated First Aider, ensuring prompt care in case of any medical needs.
Comprehensive risk assessments are conducted to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
Participation in trips is voluntary, and students are expected to maintain the highest behavioural standards during these experiences.

We are proud to offer these opportunities, fostering growth, curiosity, and real-world connections that bring classroom learning to life.
